Dedicated to Evidence-Based Mental Health Solutions

Healing Lasts Longer Than the Hurt

Trauma doesn't just stop when an event ends. Its damage echoes forward, subtly reshaping your relationships, your health, your peace of mind, and the way you experience the world. If you are carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, depression, or profound grief, please know this: you do not have to carry it alone, and you do not have to feel this way forever.

Welcome to Maine Coast Assessment & Therapy Services, a telehealth only practice serving the people of Maine. Collaborative support helps you navigate dark moments, release the weight of painful experiences, and build a clear path to true healing.

Our Core Purpose

I believe deeply that mental health care is a fundamental human right. My ultimate foundational vision is to expand this practice into a comprehensive trauma center right here in Maine—a sanctuary where high-quality, evidence-based trauma care is accessible to anyone who needs it, regardless of their financial situation.

Every single client who walks through my door today helps fuel the foundation of that dream. Whether we are working together one-on-one or in a small group setting, your healing is treated with the deep dignity, respect, and specialized attention it deserves.

Welcome to Maine Coast Assessment,

Amy Hoffman, LCSW

A Structured, Individualized Approach to Progress

Your pain is unique, which means your therapeutic roadmap must be too. I combine clinical intuition with rigorous, evidence-based modalities to make sure our work is moving you forward.

  • Thorough Initial Assessments: We begin by deeply understanding your history and current symptoms.

  • Objective Tracking: We utilize standardized clinical measures (like the GAD-7 for anxiety and PHQ-9 for depression) at the start and every 6 months to visibly measure your progress and pivot your care as you heal.

  • Tailored Clinical Modalities: Depending on your specific needs, your treatment plan will draw from highly effective, proven frameworks:

    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

    • CBT & DBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

    • ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency)

    • Small Groups. Deep Connection.

Healing also happens in community. I keep my therapeutic groups strictly limited to 5 participants or fewer to maintain an intimate, deeply supportive environment. The SSP Protocol utilizes specialized auditory and sensory pacing to gently soothe your nervous system, moving your body out of a chronic fight-or-flight survival state and back into a state of safe, calm processing.

      • The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Group

        • Focus: A non-invasive acoustic intervention to help reset the nervous system and improve social engagement.

        • Duration: 6-Week Focused Cohort

        • Cost: $199 per person
